What can you see here?
When you come to our cheese factory, you can park your car or bus in a large parking lot and enter the hall, formerly a porch, where our comfortable and well-lit reception desk is.
The tour starts from the meeting room which overlooks the processing department, continues all the way through the corridor where you will take a close-up look at the production cycle, including pre-salting room, salting vats containing about 2,100 wheels and warm room. Then it finally reaches the warehouse and ends up to the laboratory where cheese is cut and packaged.
The emotional peak comes at the warehouse where about 33,750 Parmigiano Reggiano wheels are stored and cured on quake-proof shelved facilities. This is where the 2012 earthquake is mostly called to mind, and where you get a clear idea of the passionate strength that has driven us since then.
The tour will obviously finish with a tasting session made up of assorted ages of Parmigiano Reggiano and some other fresh cheese, served with typical selected products that will be accurately explained by the guide.
The factory was restored and enlarged in order to comply with architectural requirements and toilet and washing facilities current regulations.
