Unfortunately, the devastating earthquakes on the 20th and the 29th of May 2012 hit even the 4 Madonne dell’Emilia Dairy: two out of the three plants were seriously damaged.

The antiseismic structuresMany wheels of aged Parmigiano Reggiano cheese were lost and the buildings suffered serious structural damage. Fortunately, the Italian people initiated a huge solidarity movement towards the “earthquaked Emilian” dairies, giving us a lot of support and the strength to not "give up".

The earthquake has not stopped the 4 Madonne dell'Emilia Dairy!

It 's true that we have suffered major damage, but we started up again immediately: the production of our Parmigiano Reggiano has never stopped.

This tragedy has highlighted once again the professionalism and dedication of our staff towards their work and the co-operative. In a short time we were able to organize three shifts that allowed us to produce our “earthquaked” Parmigiano Reggiano in a dynamic and lively atmosphere.

During that time, we met many people who have helped us and have appreciated our product, therefore becoming our loyal customers. In less than two years after the earthquake, we have restored the damaged part of the store and the offices, we have installed earthquake proof shelving, and we have restored the other damaged buildings.
