This Parmigiano Reggiano is aged over 50 months, and can therefore fall into the "extra-aged" category. Such a long ageing makes its flavour uniquely persistent and rich and its grainy texture and background spicy notes shall offer an excellet tasting ground for cheese experts.
How to taste it
Parmigiano Reggiano aged 50 months has a dry, grainy and crumbly texture and it is therefore easy to grate or to cut into flakes. It will surely add flavour to all recipes. It is also preferred before or after dinner, when possible, with some drops of honey or Balsamic Vinegar.
This type of cheese is also naturally lactose-free and highly digestible.
